This week’s concert round up picks three of our “must see,” shows of the week. You can check out our full calendar of upcoming shows here.
1. Paper Gliders
Our staff can't wait to see this band live. Their uncommon sound consists of layers of music that sounds like a mix of your favorite indie rock band and an artist serving up some seriously earnest, raw vocal harmonies. Paper Gliders will assuredly deliver a high energy show that will keep you moving. We had the pleasure of speaking with these wonderful humans one on one-check out part one of our interview on our Facebook page here. Paper Gliders will be performing with Miears, The Wheel Workers, and Let Me Remember at the Continental Club at 8PM this Saturday!
2. Bermuda Triangle
Are you ready for some Hawaiian shirts and serious female power? We are too. What started out as a group of friends (featuring Brittany Howard from that little Alabama Shakes band you might have heard of) playing together for kicks became a musical group worth plugging into. Check out the engaging folk goodness that is Bermuda Triangle this upcoming Wednesday at 7 in The Heights Theatre. See ya there!
3. Tank And The Bangas
Last and certainly not least, we can not wait for Tank And The Bangas to jam with us in Houston. Born in New Orleans (just like us) this group caught national attention with their performance for NPR's Tiny Desk concert (seen above) and kept listeners enraptured. With a collection of funky grooves, almost rap like lyrics, and a full band, Tank And The Bangas are truly one of a kind. The groups' sweet, full sound can be heard with Maggie Koerner at White Oak Music Hall this Thursday at 8PM.
